After being on the staff at Surrey CCC Mark worked as a PE teacher before deciding to combine these two professions and set up Calypso Cricket. Mark is an ECB level 2 qualified coach and a member of the ECB CA. Primarily an attacking top order batsman Mark also bowls occasional off spin and plays for BoE CC in the Surrey Championship where he is vice captain. In 2007 Mark finished as the top English qualified batsman in the league run scoring and averages chart. In 2006 Mark played for and captained the Surrey Cricket Board XI and now also plays regularly for the MCC. As an innovator Mark has added the "doosra" to his bowling repertoire and carries this, thinking outside the box, stance towards his coaching. Mark undertook a BSc degree in Sports Studies at Southampton University.

                                                        Tom Cranston
                                                           (Cricket Coach)
 
 

Tom has played for Hertfordshire at every level, from Under 11s right through to the Minor Counties 1st XI. Tom is a right-hand opening batsman and also bowls seam up, acting as a competent 1st change bowler. He is the Vice-Captain of Letchworth Cricket Club and enjoys the challenge of captaining and being in charge of a team.
Tom's coaching duties include being Head coach for Hertfordshire Under 10, 11 and 12 age groups, as well as being a lead coach on the 'Area' programme in the North of Herts, Cricket Co-ordinator and Head Coach for the North Herts District squads, plus Junior Cricket Officer in charge of the youth section at Letchworth Cricket Club.
Tom is an ECB level II coach, and due to attend his level III course in the autumn 2008. Tom looks to make sure his sessions are fun, inclusive and imaginative and is constantly looking to add to his coaching kit, with new, innovative coaching aids (cricket-specific or not!) to create and provide an extra dimension to his coaching sessions.
